Kyma is hiring an experienced Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Device Fabrication Engineer to lead device prototyping, process development, and customer requirements using semiconductor fabrication tools like photolithography, etching, and thin film deposition.
Job Responsibilities
- Execution of device prototyping and process development for Kyma’s device efforts as well as customer’s processing requirements
- Compile and prepare data, reports, presentations, and other documents
- Use of JMP, Origin, Excel / MS Suite, KymaNet (data and inventory management system)
- Interface directly with internal and external customers to understand project requirements and communicate fabrication plans
- Travel to local universities to execute processing and characterization jobs
Qualifications
- Semiconductor cleanroom experience required; III-N or other WBG semiconductor processing experience is a plus
- Processing tools: Photolithography, e-beam lithography, ICP/RIE, wet etching, thin films deposition (ALD, PECVD, metals deposition)
- Characterization tools: Microscopy (SEM/EDS, AFM), optical spectroscopy (Raman, FTIR), surface analysis (AFM, Zygo), X-ray diffraction, Electronic test: (IV, CV)
- Photomask design / CAD is a plus
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Customer-service oriented
- Deductive reasoning, critical thinking, and active listening skills
- Highly motivated and willing to learn new systems
- Able to follow detailed fabrication travelers for Kyma’s established processes
- 5+ years’ experience as a process technician, process engineer, research associate, or other relevant role
