Kyma Technologies Shuffles Leadership Team

Kyma Technologies, Inc. announced today that Dr. Heather Splawn has transitioned from Kyma’s COO & VP Finance to become Kyma's new President & CEO, while Dr. Keith Evans who has served in that role since 2005 has transitioned to Kyma’s Strategic Growth Officer. Dr. Jacob Leach and Mr. Gregg Dodson will remain CTO and Chief Engineer, respectively, and the four will continue to comprise the company’s board of directors.

Dr. Splawn joined Kyma in 2009 as Director of Business Development. In early 2011 she was promoted to VP Operations and then later in 2011 was voted onto the board of directors while being promoted to the role of COO & VP Finance. That same year she was also named a Triangle Mover and Shaker by Business Leader Magazine.

The transition is natural in that Dr. Evans has increasingly served in a relatively externally facing role as Dr. Splawn increasingly took care of regular operations. Going forward Dr. Evans will focus on spinning out one or more of Kyma’s increasingly diverse array of advanced wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor technologies.

Dr. Evans offered the following thoughts, “It’s been a labor of love to lead Kyma’s evolution from a bulk GaN focused development stage entity to a leading supplier of a number of wide bandgap and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor materials, devices, and associated equipment and services. And it’s been a great pleasure to build a great leadership team which will now be led by Heather. She has shown that she can handle most any challenge and it is the right time for her to lead Kyma through its next growth chapter.”

Dr. Splawn added, “I’m very excited to take on the role of president & CEO and I am very thankful for having the support of the board and all my teammates at Kyma. Keith convinced me that Kyma was an exciting opportunity when I joined and its been a great journey ever since.  I'm grateful for Keith's leadership and dedication to Kyma, and we're looking forward to the path ahead.”
