About Kyma
Kyma's mission is to develop advanced materials and device technologies for a better tomorrow. We are a green 3P (People, Profits, Planet) high technology company with two facilities located in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina.
Kyma was founded in 1998 by Professor Jerry Cuomo and his graduate student Mark Williams of the Materials Science and Engineering Department of North Carolina State University.
Kyma's core competencies are in designing, fabricating, and using crystal growth and processing equipment to fabricate advanced materials and devices.
Kyma’s diverse product offering includes a variety of crystalline and non-crystalline materials, photoconductive switches, crystal growth equipment, crystal fabrication equipment, equipment for manufacturing super-abrasive diamond wire, and related products and services.
Markets and Applications
Applications for Kyma's products are manifold, including solid state lighting and energy efficient power electronics, as well as wireless base stations, optical storage, projection displays, ultraviolet water and air purification, and chemical and bioagent optical sensing.
